Keep Walking...

My favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31... But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they will mount up with wings as eagles, they will run and not grow weary, walk and not faint.

Occasionally we soar, frequently we run but mostly, we just walk.  Mundane, day after day kind of walking. Lack of sleep, errands, work, car repairs, taxes, rowdy boys.    In the walking, sometimes we walk right into situations that take us by surprise.  We would go around them if we had the choice, but instead God takes us right through them.  Thankfully, we don't faint.  We can't do it on our own.  We are nothing and He is everything.  He upholds us when we think we will surely faint, and find that we are able to keep on going.

Are you soaring, running or walking today?  Whatever your mode of transportation, remember that our strength for the journey comes from the Lord.

What's in 24?

24- no, I'm not talking about the TV show.  It's the number of years Rex & I celebrated wedded bliss yesterday.    It has been quiet a ride.

Together.....

we've moved more times than the number of years we've been married
lived with inlaws and had had inlaws live with us
been residents in two states
held 17 jobs (both full and part time)
owned 12 vehicles
survived 1 major car wreck
1 miscarriage, birthed 1 son, loved on 6 foster children and adopted two of them
recovered from more than 10 surgeries
held on to some really special friends for a really long time

We have survived infertility, cancer, bankruptcies and the deaths of several people we loved dearly.

We have laughed until we cried, and cried until we couldn't cry anymore.  We've been disappointed and overjoyed.  We have started over, and over again.  We have disagreed... passionately; yet we are united and a chord of 3 that cannot be broken.  We are committed!

I have been blessed beyond measure in so many ways, but here are just a few:
  • Unexplainable joy sitting with my husband on our couch as he accepted Christ as his Savior
  • Truly understanding what it means to become one, as we buried his dad
  • Dreaming with him, and about him.
  • And now, learning from him as he grows and continues to become more like Jesus.  He is  my protector, my friend, my lover and the best daddy I know.
Our journey has been a little more difficult than I dreamed as a little girl; but each step has been a gift and I wouldn't trade anything for them.    We are stiiiiiilllllll together :)

So yesterday, what a joy to simply be together- laying by the pool, having a 2-for... dinner alone at Logan's and catching the comedy movie, Killers!

I am so thankful for every day I get to be Mrs. Rex Allen.

Discoveries

Instead of "catching up" here's are a few things I've discovered since my last post...

4 hours spent cleaning the family car only lasts until the first child gets in....

I love NYC... who knew?
I went for business and was all by myself but loved it and definitley going back with my hubby!

My "wild man" Isaiah calms to almost standstill when you give him crayons and paper....

and we think he is pretty good for just turning 4...

All kids lie, and some in the midst of incriminating evidence...

The more I fly, the less I enjoy it.

Elijah will behave all day- to earn a AA battery for a reward
(his new $1 yard sale remote motorcycle takes 7.... and run out quickly)

Isaiah has more fashion drama then his mommy ever has thought about!

Neigborhood friends are great- sometimes.

I am not intimidated by people's judgements on my life and parenting - I'm over 40 :)

Raising a teenage son is so much more difficult than I would ever have dreamed!.
Missing him is too.

I am still in love, MORE in love with Rexxy than I was 24 years ago :)

and thankfully, I have re-dsicovered that my God is faithful, He gives Wisdom for the asking and had a purpose when He told us to

BE STILL and KNOW!
