24- no, I'm not talking about the TV show. It's the number of years Rex & I celebrated wedded bliss yesterday. It has been quiet a ride.
we've moved more times than the number of years we've been married
lived with inlaws and had had inlaws live with us
been residents in two states
held 17 jobs (both full and part time)
owned 12 vehicles
survived 1 major car wreck
1 miscarriage, birthed 1 son, loved on 6 foster children and adopted two of them
recovered from more than 10 surgeries
held on to some really special friends for a really long time
We have survived infertility, cancer, bankruptcies and the deaths of several people we loved dearly.
We have laughed until we cried, and cried until we couldn't cry anymore. We've been disappointed and overjoyed. We have started over, and over again. We have disagreed... passionately; yet we are united and a chord of 3 that cannot be broken. We are committed!
I have been blessed beyond measure in so many ways, but here are just a few:
- Unexplainable joy sitting with my husband on our couch as he accepted Christ as his Savior
- Truly understanding what it means to become one, as we buried his dad
- Dreaming with him, and about him.
- And now, learning from him as he grows and continues to become more like Jesus. He is my protector, my friend, my lover and the best daddy I know.
Our journey has been a little more difficult than I dreamed as a little girl; but each step has been a gift and I wouldn't trade anything for them. We are stiiiiiilllllll together :)
So yesterday, what a joy to simply be together- laying by the pool, having a 2-for... dinner alone at Logan's and catching the comedy movie, Killers!
I am so thankful for every day I get to be Mrs. Rex Allen.
