No problems- all 8 of us dressed, lunches packed and in the park early afternoon.
Mickie's Jammin Jungle Parade
Festival of the Lion King (higly recommend- a nice surprise since I didn't choose this one on my personalized map)
Kali River Rapids (Rex, Shayne & Elijah waited 80 minutes to ride this one)
Kilmanjaro Safari's
Expedition Everest- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
Today was Rex's turn to hit racism head on. "That's your son!" Teenage boys with attitude- it would appear that racism is not dead. I guess I just never paid attention before.
Funnel cake and photo's with Goofy and Mickey
Faves of the day:
Safari- everyone enjoyed that- we saw alligators, bunny rabits, hippo's, elephants, ostrich, flamingo, lion, cheetah, giraffe, antelope, wart-hog, and some others I can't remember their names.
We had a wonderful "guide" as we searched the reserve for poachers. As we approach the different echo systems, our guide would introduce the animals. Isaiah would turn around and ask - "what did she say" I would reply "antelope" to which he would say- "ohh, antelope." Ditto conversation for the wart-hog. As if my repeating the name cleared up any confusion in his head. I anticipated my boys would love this and they did.
My personal favorite was Expedition Everest- a wicked little roller coaster especially since we've never rode before. A few surprises along the way, to which my brave little Elijah handled like a pro. Only part that scared him was the projected yeti on the screen while we were stopped- forwards or backwards I can't remember. I however enjoy going backwards in the dark around sharp turns.
My boys have surprised me a bit on this trip. My wild man Isaiah is actually fearful of several things and isn't impressed with some of the rides at all. He is thrilled with the shows and parades. Elijah, who I always thought was my fearful one- is actually a bit of a dare-devil and likes the thrill of the roller coasters. This has been a nice surprise for Shayne who has a riding buddy.
Shayne is having a good time. Very helpful with the pool and just being a great big brother. I so love my Shayne.
We danced our way out of the park around 8:30 pm. Before we could get to Chili's for dinner, Isaiah had crashed - slept through the rest of the night.
Caught the last few minutes of the big game and thought about Drew who may be the only Duke fan I actually know. Love you anyway Drew :)
Finished the day with moonlit swimming and in bed by 1:00 a.m.
Florida- good times.
